2. Membership & Fees
2.1 Joining Fee
A once-off joining fee of R300 is required to activate your membership and gain immediate access to the eBook library and referral programme.
2.2 Monthly Subscription
A monthly fee of R200 is required to maintain active membership status and continued access to the eBook library and commission programme. Failure to pay the monthly fee may result in suspended commission earnings.
2.3 Fee Changes
We reserve the right to adjust membership fees with at least 30 days' written notice to existing members via email.
2.4 Payment
All payments are processed securely through Yoco. We do not store your card details. You may also pay via EFT as arranged with the administrator.
3. The Referral Commission Programme
3.1 How Commissions Work
- Joining commission: R200 flat rate paid to your direct sponsor when a new member pays their R300 joining fee
- Monthly commissions: Paid across up to 5 levels of your downline at rates of 15% / 10% / 7% / 5% / 2.5% of the monthly subscription fee
- Commissions are calculated on monthly subscription fees of active, paying members in your downline only
3.2 Commission Payment
- Commissions are subject to administrator approval before payment
- Commissions are paid monthly via EFT to your registered South African bank account
- You must have valid banking details saved in your profile to receive payment
- Commissions are only earned on active, paying members in your downline
3.3 Independent Contractor Status
3.3.1 Voluntary participation
Participation in the referral commission programme is entirely voluntary. You are under no obligation to refer anyone. You may enjoy full eBook library access without ever referring another member.
3.3.2 Independent contractor relationship
If you choose to refer new members and earn commissions, you do so as an independent contractor and not as an employee of eBooks Galore. This means:
- You are free to set your own hours, methods and approach to referrals
- You are not subject to the direction, control or supervision of eBooks Galore in how you conduct referral activities
- You may refer members to other businesses or programmes simultaneously — there is no exclusivity requirement
- You use your own resources, devices and time to conduct referral activities
- You are not required to perform a minimum number of referrals
This relationship is governed by South African common law as a contract for services, and not by the Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995 or the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997. Accordingly, you are not entitled to employment benefits including but not limited to leave pay, sick leave, pension, medical aid contributions, overtime pay or notice pay.
3.3.3 Tax obligations — your responsibility
As an independent contractor, you are solely responsible for your own tax affairs. eBooks Galore does not:
- Deduct Pay As You Earn (PAYE) from commission payments
- Contribute to the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) on your behalf
- Contribute to the Skills Development Levy (SDL) on your behalf
- Issue an IRP5 tax certificate to you
Commission payments are made in full without any deductions. You are responsible for:
- Registering with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) as a taxpayer if you have not already done so
- Registering as a provisional taxpayer with SARS if your total annual income (including commissions) exceeds the tax threshold
- Submitting provisional tax returns (IRP6) to SARS twice a year (31 August and end of February) and paying any tax due
- Submitting your annual income tax return (ITR12) and declaring all commission income received from eBooks Galore
- Keeping accurate records of all commission income and related expenses for a minimum of five years as required by SARS
- Registering for VAT if your annual income from all sources exceeds R1,000,000 (one million rand)
3.3.4 eBooks Galore reporting obligations
eBooks Galore reserves the right to report commission payments made to members to SARS as required by applicable tax legislation. We may request your income tax reference number for record-keeping purposes. We will issue you with a commission statement on request showing total commissions paid during any financial year.
3.4 Commission Disqualification
Commissions may be withheld or reversed if:
- Fraud or misrepresentation is detected in a referral
- A referred member's payment is reversed or charged back
- Your own monthly subscription is not paid for the relevant period
- You make false or misleading income claims when recruiting
3.5 No Income Guarantee
Past earnings or projections shown in our calculator are illustrative only. We make no guarantee of any specific income. Your earnings depend entirely on the activity of paying members in your network. Many members earn little or nothing from the referral programme.
4. eBook Library
- Access to the eBook library is provided for your personal, non-commercial use only
- You may not redistribute, resell, copy or share downloaded eBooks
- eBook titles may be added, removed or replaced at our discretion
- eBook access continues for as long as your membership is active and paid

10. Governing Law & Disputes
